Illuminate Learning's founders Aditi Shanbhag and Vyshu Telukuntla were interviewed by the Brambleton magazine to give more insight how and why the organization came to life. Although we are a world wide organization with many tutors and students who globally enjoy our services, we still are forever grateful to where it all started in Brambleton, Virginia.
The interface is clear and simple, every action is straightforward. Creating a new slider and adding slides are quick and easy process.

As students we understand that schooling from home can be challenging and at times confusing, therefore we wanted to provide an outlet for children to interact with tutors and other students by providing engaging activities and educational projects. We primarily developed our nonprofit as a way to help children learn, explore their interests, and gain knowledge during the closure of schools & summer programs by offering free tutoring and mentoring. Our goal was to develop a responsive platform for younger students to receive guidance from high schoolers and collaborate with their peers as they navigated through the new mediums of virtual learning. With our ample, diverse background experience in tutoring and teaching, we can effectively establish a connection with your child to ensure they gain the most from our lessons.
Illuminate Learning covers
all math concepts from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. This includes basic number sense, elementary math, Algebra I, II, and Geometry. Resources such as Khan Academy and Desmos will be used to complement lesson plans & notes!
Illuminate tutors can cover science concepts that range amongst basic elementary sciences, earth sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, and Biology. Medical science and simple Chemistry lesson plans are planned to be implemented late October!
Illuminate tutors can help students with K-8 English concepts, including basic writing techniques, spelling, reading comprehension, grammar. If students would like assistance with pronunciation, please be sure to inform us so we may plan accordingly!
Illuminate tutors can assist students in grades 2nd through 5th with Social Studies and History concepts, with extra emphasis on world geography and simple economics. As the Social Studies curriculum varies across the United States, syllabi will be modified!
Students will provide their tutors with any
work or concept questions they may have, whether this be what they are learning in school right now, or any topics of interest they may be having trouble with.
Students will be supplemented with with Illuminate’s curriculum, which contains the main, standard grade checkpoints and concepts for each subject. If needed, students and parents may request weekly homework.
If students wish to have higher understanding on a subject(s), tutors will teach them higher level topics that tend to be outside the student’s curriculum. If asked for students will received tailored homework.
